There Is Always Light

By: Amanda Gorman "When day comes we step out of the shade,  aflame and unafraid, the new dawn blooms as we free it. For there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it." <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LZ055ilIiN4" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And Yet

We're 10 days into a new year, 10 days away from a new president, And in the middle of a raging pandemic.  Our candidate won,  Yet people refuse to accept it.  The miracle vaccine came,  Yet people refuse to take it.  We have never been more connected,  Yet people have never been so divided.  Life feels bleak and threatening,  America: frustrating and impossible, Our future: supremely uncertain.  Here I am with a hot cup of coffee, A heavy sigh, And yet,  A sliver of hope.

The Guest House

By: Rumi This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honourably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each as been sent as a guide from beyond.
