BLOG-mania!

I watched Julia and Julia the other night. Meryl Streep's voice drove me nuts, and all that cooking made me hungry and exhausted. It got me thinking about blogging and movies, though. Just like there are different genres of movies, here are some blogs that I follow that seem to fit into certain genres.

Foreign film.

This is a blog of my dear friend EH who is studying in Paris for the year. She loves art, music, photography, travel and all things Parisian culture.

Comedy.

This is a brand spankin new blog by my friend LS. She is hilarious and insightful, as her blog illustrates daily. Though she will tell you that she should be working on her Master's thesis, I think that her blog is a healthy distraction (for that is what I tell myself).

Independent film.

My writer friend and grad school life coach KG is the brilliant mind behind this blog. When she first began blogging, she repeatedly told me that it made her feel geeky. Having had a my own blog for 6 months or so, this comment was fitting. Because I am a geek. But now she is too. :)

Adventure film.

A good friend of mine, JG, will be studying in Australia for 10 months and has promised to keep us all (friends, family, and the Rotary) up to date with her Aussie adventures. I'll miss her and our insightful coffee/beer dates, but I look forward to reading about life down under.

Silent film.

This blog (is tumblr a blog? I think so..) is all about images and the written word. I've posted this before but it deserves re-recognition. AB's flavor the week is mm. mm.. tasty!

Romantic comedy.

My newly married friend SA turned SG and her husband SG (that is going to be confusing) recently moved from Lincoln, NE to Alaska. I look forward to reading about the hilarity of these two newly weds living in the tundra. Although SG hasn't actually blogged yet, she does have an account.. so maybe by becoming a follower, she will have the added umph she needs to get it going.

Drama or Documentary.

I met my friend EO through a friend living in New York, and her blog is full of beautiful photos of beautiful men. Perhaps this genre should be 'fantasy' instead..

I hate to brag, but my friends are freaking awesome. Follow their blogs!
